Steam train shuttles from Balbriggan to Drogheda and back.



If you feel left out while our May Railtour is running this weekend and would like to travel on our train, never fear - a steam day trip is near! To help celebrate Balbriggan's annual Summerfest, we will be running two local steam train shuttles from Balbriggan to Drogheda and back - Great way to spend the way out with the family for the Bank Holiday weekend! There will also be a connecting steam train from Dublin Connolly to Balbriggan running that morning. If you want to have a day out in Balbriggan instead of continuing with the local trips, you can rejoin the connecting train in the afternoon and have hours to spend at the seaside town and take in the festivities!


Dublin- Balbriggan & return Connecting train Departs Dublin Connolly (for Balbriggan) at 10:25, Arrives in Balbriggan at 11:02. Departs Balbriggan (returning for Dublin) at 15:50, Arrives in Dublin Connolly at 16:35 Local Train 1: Balbriggan-Drogheda & return: Departs Balbriggan at 11:10, Arrives back at Balbriggan at 12:35 Local Train 2: Balbriggan-Drogheda & return: Departs Balbriggan at 13:45, Arrives back at Balbriggan at 15:40 Ticket Fares for Dublin Connecting train: Adult Return €15 and Child Return €10 Tickets can be purchased at the following outlets: -Irish Rail, Balbriggan Station -The Brick Room, Railway Street, Balbriggan -Morelli's, Quay Street, Balbriggan Ticket Fares for Local Train's 1 and 2: Adult Return €12 and Child Return €6 Tickets bought on the train on the day!
