Irish Water advises of potential odour while essential works are carried out at Balbriggan / Barnageeragh Wastewater Treatment Plant. Irish Water wish to advise that, due to essential works scheduled at the Balbriggan Wastewater Treatment Plant, there is a risk of intermittent odours from the plant. Works will take place from 8am to 6pm each day from Monday 27 January until Friday 31 January. There may be intermittent odours during these work times. Irish Water will make every effort to minimise the risk of odours and to complete these works as quickly as possible. The works being carried out involve the installation of equipment to minimise the risk of odours in the longer term. During the works, the tanks on site will be drained and cleaned, and the new equipment installed. The overall works represent a significant investment, and will be carried out in a phased basis. Irish Water will continue to engage with the community throughout the works. Irish Water would like to apologise for any odours that arise while the work is being carried out.
