Radical NTA overhaul will see Bus Services removed, reduced and rerouted in Fingal.

Protests, Street Campaigns and anger at meetings show a BusDisConnects

People hugely concerned at changes to Bus Services throughout Dublin City and County, worries in Fingal have drawn people to attend Public Meeting in big numbers, with standing room only and people with heads in through open windows to listen. I have attended many of these public meetings all over Fingal throughout

the summer, Malahide, Rush, Donnabate and Skerries. The fact this consultation process took place during the summer in itself is a concern. Following a submission by Robert Troy FF spokesperson on Transport at an Oireachtas hearing the deadline has now been extended and will continue until September 28th

Impact on Balbriggan: Plan would see all existing 33 services removed.

  • No Dublin Bus direct service to Dublin

  • Changeover at Swords Hub

  • Reduced Service

  • Increased rail use on already over capacity trains

No Service into Beaumount Hospital & Fare Increase

At every meeting people are discovering more, the shock and anger from people is what I see most. People come to these meeting thinking they have some understanding but leave realising a lot more. For instance, a speaker from the NRBU told the people at the Skerries meeting that buses would no longer service the long corridor to Beaumont Hospital and that there would be a drop off point some distance from the gates of the hospital. Then Friday mornings national press were reporting commuters were facing fare hikes under the new Scheme.

Prime Time Debate

The issue has made national coverage with Darragh O’Brien TD on Prime Time this week highlighting the concerns from the people of Fingal.

People Taking to the Streets

Hundreds of locals took to the streets of Chapelizod recently to protest at plans to dramatically reduce their bus services.

Rush on Street Campaign

This weekend in Rush too the Community council have organised an on street campaign to get submissions to oppose these plans.

Balbriggan needs increased and more frequent Bus Service not less

Senator Lorraine Clifford lee has called a public meeting this Thursday September 13th at 7.30 in Bracken Court Hotel. People must raise their concerns call for improved services, you need to have your say. Balbriggan people need to discover how to make submissions on this Public Consultation and have their voices heard.

Please Share this and let people not online know about the Public Meeting this Thursday.
