We spent several hours on the door steps of the community listening to the issues and concerns of the people. We were very warmly welcomed and it was great to get out and meet so many great people. Issues from Education, Health to providing facilities, I made a good representation on #NorthFingalPoolCampaign too and we also listened to concerns about the Harbour and Lighthouse.

We spent some time in Balrothery also where similar issues were brought up and much

talk about the cramped conditions in Balrothery School and the delays in the building work being done there. Senator Lorraine Clifford-Lee has committed to pursue this and all other issues that were raised on the day.

We even got a chance to meet my own family and had a long talk about life in Balbriggan and Balrothery the great clubs and organisations that are available to the community young and old. Micheál Martin commented on the lovely well presented estates and residences and was impressed by the great community spirit I told him about. It was really was a great day and opportunity to meet and speak directly to such senior public representatives.

Press Release:

FF Leader joins Senator Lorraine Clifford-Lee on visit to Balbriggan and Balrothery

Fingal based Senator, Lorraine Clifford-Lee said local residents in Balruddery Woods, Balrothery and Craoibhin Park in Balbriggan were delighted to meet the Fianna Fáil Leader recently and chat with him about the issues that are important to them.

Commenting on his visit, Senator Lorraine Clifford-Lee said “Michéal’s visit provided a great opportunity for him to come to Fingal, meet people and have them tell him first-hand about the issues that they would like to see addressed in our community.

“The engagement with local people was very informative and the issues raised on the doors will feed into our upcoming policies.

“More and more young families are choosing to relocate to Balbriggan and Fingal as a

whole but as a consequence of a growing population, the demand on school places and the provision of education in the area has heightened. This is just one of the trends that quickly must be addressed.

“Our party remain committed to ensuring that all parts of Ireland benefit from the recovery and we want to see towns in the North County prosper and thrive once again.”.
