Addressing the gathering of female entrepreneurs, the Mayor of Fingal Cllr Anthony Lavin reported that female entrepreneurship is alive and thriving in Fingal. Commenting that, of the 31 businesses approved for business priming and expansion grant funding in Fingal in 2018, 14 of these businesses are led by women, with a further three led jointly by female/male directors, so over 50% are led solely or jointly by women entrepreneurs. Our Local Enterprise Office also reports that of the 151 people that have so far this year completed the Start Your Own Business programme, more than half (52%) are female entrepreneurs, and of the 526 candidates that participated in management development workshops this year, 69% are women entrepreneurs demonstrating strong female enterprise activity within Fingal.
