'Balbriggan Carnegie Free Library - It's design, construction and development since 1905'
Date: Wednesday, 29th March 2017
Time: 8 p.m.
Venue: Town Hall, Balbriggan
Title: 'Balbriggan Carnegie Free Library - It's design, construction and development since 1905'
Speaker: Jim Walsh

The presenter of Balbriggan and District Historical Society's first talk of 2017 is someone who is no stranger to most of you. Jim Walsh was Librarian in Balbriggan Library for many years and a member of the Society from the beginning. He has given many enlightening talks down through the years as well as publishing books on local history. It is fitting as we celebrate the 10th anniversary of the redevelopment of our local Balbriggan Carnegie Library that Jim will share his knowledge of it's design, construction and development over more than 100 years. This is a talk not to be missed so spread the word.
Membership for 2017 will be collected before the talk if you want to join - membership entitles you to free entry to our six talks during the year and a vote at the AGM. I am also attaching our newsletter for the first half of 2017 with more information on the Society.
Don't forget our quiz upstairs in the Milestone on Thursday night the 23rd March at 8pm. Teams of 4, €40 per team. Don't worry if you don't have a full team - we should be able to sort you out with a team on the night.
Please note the local history photographic exhibition due to be held by Fingal County Council in County Hall Swords on Wednesday 29th of March has been postponed.
