Nice and clean and peaceful - they certainly bring back memories. But unfortunately the photos no longer paint the full picture. No images of the illegal traveller encampment on scenic Seabanks that has generated filth and hassle over the summer. Nothing to indicate that it's not always safe to walk on the beautiful front beach, after several vicious unprovoked attacks in the past months. I love living in Balbriggan, but some things are happening there now that I absolutely abhor, and the ordinary people seem to be powerless to improve matters. guest book entry from 17.10.2006 at 16:32:52 E-mail: dipzy1987@yahoo.ie Name: debbie whelan ----------------------------------------------- comment: hey there, its sad to see that people would sign the guest book as a joke. come on guys what a waste of everybody's time - the people who make this site and us genuine people who enjoy looking at this site. for example i read my way through the guestbook then to my horror i read some nasty stuff thats all a fake. this kind of carry on should be kept for other sites like the lastest craze BEBO. come on now people grow up!!!!!! Comment by B.net team---Well said Debbie, it would be terrible if we had to stop the Guest Book because of a few timewasters. At last someone has stood up to be counted! I was so pleased you have voiced what for so many years people have been saying under their breaths. You are of course right, Balbriggan needs a community centre and more things for the youth to do rather than drinking their young lives away. I live in London and each time I come back to Balbriggan, I really dispair. Well done again and hopefully those commissionaires will sit up and listen rather than posing outside their new offices and the cinema! Best Regards Entry

My grumble would be with the lack of facilities, what have our youth to look forward to - concrete estates, congested streets. It's time for the focus of our town commissionaires and governing bodies to look forward and stop the continuous building and ensure that sporting facilities are improved - not one track and field in the town, no sporting centre of any great standard - sure there's the cinema now - great but what about the lack of active culture that runs so evidently down the drains of our Balbriggan sewers - under age drinking is a direct result - Those with any ounce of political sway towards the development of the town should be ashamed of themselves - it's a disgrace that the unity of each community has been strangled and for what, to line the wealthiest pockets with more fool's gold.... guest book entry from 10.10.2006 at 17:36:42 E-mail: aarononeill19@eircom.net Name: aaron o'neill ----------------------------------------------- comment: hi it is great 2 be in balbriggan i have lived here all my life just found ur website just saying hi guest book entry from 10.10.2006 at 16:37:49 E-mail: fordie711@yahoo.com Name: paul ford ----------------------------------------------- comment: hi 2 all in the brigg.having a great time in thailand,hi to janette geraghty(reid),thanx for the mention..i will be meeting up with lesleyann in a couple of weeks.keep up the good work to all at bal.net..slainte fordie.. I saw that one of the most beautifull house in Balbriggan is for sale "KINCORA" if I could believe me I will buy it and give her the care that she deserve. I sincerely hope that she not going to be bought by some selfish promoter who will knock it down like the Gallens Mill House.. I think its important to protect the town from this 'element' on our streets. Same way the new pay and display machines all got vandalised within days. Graffiti etc. can't be too hard to trace who "wildman" is. One of the drawbacks of seriously high density houseing without proper planning or infrastructure. It breeds an unsavoury element about the town. hard to believe Dunnes Stores was built without an access road, and the delivery 18 wheelers need to use a residential road. Its about time those responsible are held accountable for all these 'planning faux paux. Im sure Im not alone in my frustration; watching the town I grew up in, run into the ground. Too much money to spend, and no planning. No forethought. Just a race to spend and approve. Its terribly disappointing. I won't hold my breath for anything to change though. The illuminati involved have many more amazingly bad planning applications to approve. Ireland, the most underpopulated EU country (land area conversely propertional to population) yet one of the leaders of high density housing. Why? Cost. Its cheaper to build houses on top of each other. Less infrastructure (sewage, water pipes etc) to pay for. I hope things change in time. That new estate near dunnes is like tyrellstown now. 10000 houses and a shop/bookies/barbers/abrakadabra. all they need now is apub to complete the grand planning formula. :( guest book entry from 02.05.2006 at 10:53:37 E-mail: murielm@eircom.net Name: muriel abraham ----------------------------------------------- comment: Could Caith from California please get in touch with me as I mistakenly deleted your email address.
