I adore this website. Although I haven't got a whole lot of time on my paws to look at the gr8 detailed pages on it, as i'm very busy correcting all my students maths and biology papers, as i am a secondary school teacher in Loreto.I have fond memories of Balbriggan, especially dancing around in the o'dwyers clubhouse in my green skirt and curly wig. keep up all the good work with the website, and make sure you "revise" it every night as slackingon any subject isn't acceptable.

I was delighted to see the old photo of Keelings pub published, which included a childhood photo of my dad Christo keeling and my uncle Joe. I have to say Joe has changed very little in looks and stance.
My father Christo is very well known in the town. He has a great interest in sport and is a familiar face in the bookies. and until recently walking his greyhounds. In his younger days he was a keen footballer, and a promising cross country runner, he represented his county numerous times and even ran for Ireland. He and some friends started the terrier racing in balbriggan. This was a weekly event which was held in field behind the church, where cricket field is now. It was very popular in the sixties and meetings were also held in Drogheda, Skerrries and Loughshiney. Some of the stories are very funny surrounding this event, and every shape, make and breed of dog was eligible to run. Anyone out there with photos or stories? I enjoy your website very much and click on regularly. Keep up the good work.

Many fond memories of Balbriggan, my mum's a Dubliner and is has 4 sister and 2 brothers. Quite a few members of her family live in Balbriggan and I holidayed there for many, many years as a child. Her sister, Bridie Lyons married Billy Guildea and it was my Auntie Bride we stayed with in Balbriggan when we went over there from Scotland. Was over there (Balbriggan) about 4 years ago and saw big changes in Balbriggan since the last time I'd been over, around 1976. Anyway, lovely to see there's a website and hope to visit the site again in the near future

I'm enjoying the Balbriggan website. I'm Irish from Belfast but live in Guelph, Ontario, Canada. My cousin in Balbriggan sent me the website. I've been to Balbriggan many times over the years - it is very interesting to see all the new development going on. Let's hope it doesn't change the lovely small town atmosphere.

I was last in Balbriggan in summer 1973. My brother Gerry lives there with his family. I wondered if anyone remembers me from then. I was friendly with the Gildeas and used to see Eileen Kenny who was a hairdresser. (I was only 16 at the time). My memories of Balbriggan are of a nice wee town with friendly people and I hope to pay a visit in the not too distant future.

What an excellent site,it brings back lovely memories of when i was younger and my Mum(Carmel Fanning) and Dad(John Roberts)brought myself and my sister Elaine over to see our grandad Martin Fanning and the rest of our family. We used to play for hours on that beach. It was great to be able to show everyone the photos of the places ive been talking about for years and hopefully it wont be that long before were over again. message contents: Must say, I always hated the place. Full of nutters. I was bullied quite a bit too and yet....now that I live abroad (in Spain) I'm fond of the bloody place. Odd, that. It is a pretty town, not much in it mind, but the beach is lovely. Delighted to read the names of other posters on this message board, some lovely people like Gretta Rogers, Keith Sherwin and...Pat Mullen!? THE Pat Mullen!? Hello Pat, if you get to read this!
