When I mentioned it, people just shrugged their shoulders. Parks, the seafront walk, everywhere. The other incredible thing is the Pall of choking smoke that constantly settles on the streets due to people burning coal & peat ( nobody burns coal / peat here ). I used to have childhood asthma, now I can see why ! But my main concern is that having lived in London for almost 25 years, I have observed at first hand the strains that rapid population changes can have on communities. I think that Balbriggan is totally unprepared for the influx of incomers that's currently underway.( Commuters from Dublin & beyond, Returning Expats, EU citizens, asylum seekers, etc) and the town is really creaking. Its needs Millions of Euro's worth of infracture, now ! All in all, although there are plus points (the Wonderful Seaside, upcoming seal sanctuary, the good schools, some nice people ) there were too many negatives. Sorry to sound so down, but we found the experience of living there for 5 months profoundly depressing. Name supplied.

Response by B.net. We agree totally with the dog mess, it's a real problem and there should be some dog pooh bins on Church Street, along the Viaduct and around the Harbour and Beach. Speaking personally(TH) I always bring a bag to clean up any mess my dogs make but you end up having to carry it for your entire walk.
