PRESS RELEASE

Calling all Community Organisations in Balbriggan and Skerries!

Are you involved in a community focused organisation in Skerries or Balbriggan? Would you like more people to know about it and get involved? If so, this is for you! In 2006 and 2007, Co-operation Fingal, the community partnership in North Fingal and Skerries Community Association, put together a community directory for Balbriggan and Welcome Pack for Skerries. These contained details of community services, groups and organisations in these areas. It can be quite difficult, particularly for people new to the area, to get up-to-date information on local activities and these booklets act as a one-stop information resource for all residents. Another objective of these free directories is to promote community groups and activities in the area and support enhanced participation and awareness. Included in these publications are listings of schools, doctors, arts and drama organisations, sport clubs, support groups, Citizen Information Centres, social welfare and County Council departments and other information identified as helpful and supportive to fully participating in community activity. The information in these is currently being updated and will be amalgamated and reprinted in English and also made available in some of the other languages now being spoken in the area. If your group is community focused and you would like it included or indeed, if you would like your details from the previous editions altered, please call the Co-operation Fingal office on 01 802 0484 by Monday, March 18th. This translation and re-print is funded by Fingal County Council and it is free to enter your organisation’s details.
