Change of Programme of Events
We are delighted to announce that Professor George Eogan , emeritus
Professor of Celtic Archaeology at University College Dublin has
accepted our invitation to make a presentation entitled:
'The
Archaeology of Bremore and its Passage Tombs' |
Due to the recent unfortunate fire at
Bracken Court Hotel our venue has now been switched to the Hamilton
Hall, Balbriggan Town Hall, St George's Square, Balbriggan (over
Balbriggan Library)
Date : Tuesday 20th May at 8.30pm
Professor George Eogan and his research on Bremore have recently
been widely commented on by the national media and it is with
great pleasure that we have secured his services to allow the
people of our region to understand the Archaeology of Bremore
and its Passage Tombs explained by such an internationally renowned
and authoritative figure.
Professor Eogan led the 40 year programme of archaeological work
on Newgrange, Knowth and Dowth and is considered to be a world
authority in this area.
It is anticipated that given future development
plans for this region that there will be a significant attendance
at this event.
Jim Walsh's May talk on the Man O War and
the Turks Head has been deferred to facilitate Professor Eogan's
presentation.
