Hamlet Lane Improvements welcomed by Balbriggan Town Council
The members of Balbriggan Town Council were informed recently that the Transportation
Department of Fingal County Council have appointed a contractor to carry out improvement
works at Hamlet Lane which will commence in the coming week.
An Cathaoirleach, Councillor Frank Snowe who stated the Town Council
has made repeated representations on the condition of Hamlet Lane to
Fingal County Council thanked Director of Service, Mr Michael Lorigan
and his staff for their assistance.
Councillor Frank Snowe stated “I welcome on behalf of the people of
Balbriggan and the elected members of the Town Council the news that
the improvement works comprising the provision of a new footpath on
the southern side of Hamlet Lane from the Bremore Road junction to
Bremore Castle Housing estate will commence in the coming week. I have been informed that the
Council will be carrying out further improvements including the re-construction
of the road and drainage works as part of the improvement scheme for Hamlet Lane in the
coming weeks.”
“The provision of a new footpath is a major safety improvement at this location for
pedestrians and motorists alike and I am delighted that this work is happening now as
local children will be returning to school shortly.”
“These improvement works along with the re-surfacing of the Main Street which is underway
represents a significant investment by the Transportation Department of the Council in
Balbriggan and I know the town will benefit greatly as a result. I would also like to thank
the Council staff for their ongoing consultation with the community on the re-surfacing
works being carried out on the Main Street. We are all very aware that this work is
required in our town centre and the effect it can have on local traders if it is not managed
correctly.”
