
The EPC data is being collected for two reasons: 1.1 The government is obliged by European law to collect data about energy efficiency and usage in domestic and commercial properties. 1.2 To enable you to be able to provide would-be purchasers or tenants of your property with information on the energy consumption of the building, using a standardised procedure (SAP or rdSAP).
2.0 Data Disclosure to Permitted Recipients
The recipients to whom data is to be disclosed are as follows: 2.1 You, our client, since you are required to provide the data to serious prospective tenants or purchasers. 2.2 The Government, or its agent, Landmark, in order to enter it onto the register. 2.3 An Auditor who is carrying out sampling checks on the accuracy of the registered information.
3.0 Our undertakings
We make the following undertakings to our clients: 3.1 We will not collect, store or process any Sensitive Personal Data (as defined under the Data Protection Act 1998). 3.2 We will remove any software links between the owner's name and the address of the property from our records, once our invoice has been paid. (This immediately renders the data anonymous.) 3.3We will not transfer your data other than to those listed above as permitted recipients 3.4 We will use our best endeavours to ensure that the data will be kept securely and will only be used for the purposes for which you provided it. 3.5 We will not transfer the data outside the United Kingdom.
