cont. 3) The front of the ship IS untidy, mostly with construction materials. Would he judge a building site with such scorn ?. Maybe I should erect a hoarding all around it 'till I have finished building.
4) Have a look around the rest of the harbour, at the scruffy, and in many places illegal, night-club. The extension upwards, apparently without planning permission, the blank grey and unfinished walls, the illegally constructed smoking shelters, and the anexing of harbour property for entrance and fire escape ... the water drainage, straight onto the street and harbour.
5) The general appearance of the harbour ... not exactly pretty anywhere ! At least my ship has some history, is of interest to many, and will become a credit to any harbour ! Have a look at another vessel using the same hull. http://www.superyachts.com/motor-yacht-2071/achilles-iii.htm While I don't have the resources of the desire for THAT sort of conversion ... whould he be so keen of shifting her ?
6) The beautiful lighthouse ... not so beautiful when the harbour wall gets washed away again because they were too busy chastising boat owners to fortify the sea defenses ... the lack of which allows the sea to shake the whole pier during the winter storms.
Yours sincerely

PS Ohh, and then there is the damaged roof on the lean-to beside the lighthouse ... where people climb up to sun themselves ... just waiting to fall off and sue ! |
